Balayage hair looks great on all hair types, as it only imitates natural highlights one would get in the sun. Ladies with dark tones and texture in their hair can go for light brown highlights for a sun kissed look, which adds depth to your hair. But it’s not just for people with dark base color – lighter hair works just as well, using your natural base color and adding different shades of blond and ash brown, creating a more complex hair color.

Balayage best suits mid lengths and longer hair, as the length allows for a gentle blend and adds dimension when put in a blowout hair style.

Balayage highlights are easy to upkeep and will not disrupt your go-to hair care routine. The gradient effect adds depth, but also makes the hair low maintenance. Unlike traditional highlights, Balayage hair has soft lines; therefore, it won’t look unnatural even after your hair grows a little, keeping the desired look for a while. This allows for less frequent touch ups. To keep your hair looking fresh for longer, we recommend only using lukewarm water after your Balayage and avoiding washing your hair immediately after bleaching to let the color set.

WHAT IS BALAYAGE TECHNIQUE?

You’ve probably already heard of balayage, but do you know what it truly is? Derived from a French word for ‘sweeping’, Balayage is a hair lightening technique that gives a sun-kissed effect to your hair by brushing hair dye or a lightener onto individual sections of your hair. This technique is beloved by many for its natural-looking colors that allow for a gradual root growth with no harsh lines. Balayage brings a ton of dimension to your hair and stays looking fresh for a while.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BALAYAGE AND FOIL HIGHLIGHTS

Compared to highlights, Balayage has a softer, more natural look to it. Balayage is an art form, with highlighting technique applied free-handed and then toned to create a lifelike, gentle look, to enhance your features. Traditional foil highlights are used all over your head, while Balayage is less uniform, intended to look like a natural hair color.

PARTIAL BALAYAGE HIGHLIGHTS

When doing partial Balayage, the hairstylist only applies a small number of highlights, usually to the top and ends of your hair, to create a spotlight effect. This is a less invasive technique that leaves the lower layers of your hair untouched. This type of Balayage can also be used for Balayage upkeep and retouch.

FULL BALAYAGE HAIR COLOR

With this technique, the hairstylist will lighten and color your hair throughout. This way, your whole look changes completely, so this is an optimal way to achieve your desired color.

FLAMBOYAGE

Flamboyage is a new trend, combining the ombre and balayage. With Flamboyage, the adhesive strips are used for coloring the hair, using a mix of high lights and low lights to achieve a gentle, natural look. We use Davines transparent strips, a high-quality Italian product line, to make sure your Flamboyage looks perfect.

REVERSE BALAYAGE

With classic Balayage, the hair color transitions from dark hair root color to lighter hues on the hair length. Reverse Balayage, instead, goes from lighter roots to darker ends. This is a perfect solution for people who want to return to their natural dark hair color from a lighter one.

BABYLIGHTS

To create Baby Lights, our stylists at It’s Beauty will apply very thin, ultra-fine highlights to a small section of your hair. This achieves the effect of your hair naturally lightening in the sun during the summer. The application usually focuses around the face, rather than the entire head.

BLONDE BALAYAGE, ASH BLONDE BALAYAGE OR ASH BROWN – YOUR OPTIONS AND TRENDS

Blonde Balayage, while the most common form of balayage, is not your only option! You can always go for soft browns or even reds as your highlight color. Even blonde can be used in a variety of ways, from honey blonde to platinum. It all depends on your personal preference.
