ABOUT US
It’s Beauty Salon in Dubai, our Shellac services are designed for women who want their nails to do more than “look nice.” Whether you’re racing from DIFC meetings to Marina dinners or hopping off the Metro in Internet City with two iced lattes in hand, your manicure should keep up—glossy, neat, no chips in sight. Our team works with you—your nail shape, your style, your schedule.
SHELLAC AND GEL NAILS: EVERYTHING YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU NEEDED TO KNOW
Still unsure whether to go full gel manicure or stick with shellac nails? Ask yourself how often you change your mind. Every 10 days? Shellac. Once a month? Gel.
Do you like a lightweight feel, fast appointments, and easy removal? Shellac again. Need structural enhancement, sculpting, or nail extensions? Go gel nails. We do both, anyway!
You can either book shellac or gel nails, and we will be more than happy to serve you.
You’ve got options. Some of our regulars alternate—Shellac manicure one month, gel nail polish the next. Others stick to traditional polish when they're between nail plans. You do you. We’ll support it.
Our nail techs are real artists with a knack for reading moods and nail beds. Want a muted nude for an office presentation? We’ve got it. Going full shiny finish for Eid or your best friend's hen party? Sorted.
Bottom line: Shellac nails at It’s Beauty Salon are less about polish and more about polish with purpose. We don’t do rush jobs or dull colours. We match your lifestyle, your outfit, and your vibe.
Book once, stay flawless for two weeks. Book again, and we’ll remember your last shade. That’s how it works around here.

SHELLAC MANICURE PROCESS FROM START TO FINISH
So what actually happens when you sit in our chair? First, a little shaping, a little buffing, and a bit of friendly conversation (if you want to, of course). Then we apply a base coat—it hugs your nail plate, protects it, and sets the foundation.
Then comes the colour—two or more coats, cured under a UV light. And if you want, we can even do some nail art. We’re quick, but never sloppy. We finish with a top coat for that glossy finish that doesn’t quit. Or a matte finish, if your goal is subtle chic. The whole shellac manicure process takes around an hour and a half; excellence takes time, you know. You will be walking out with fully done nails—no smudging, no “oops, I ruined it on the car keys.”
THE KEY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SHELLAC AND GEL NAILS
Still mixing up gel nails and Shellac? Happens all the time. Here’s the breakdown:
Gel polish is thicker. It’s made of a liquid gel formula with acrylic monomers—think armour for your nails.
Shellac polish is a hybrid formula—softer, thinner, kinder to natural nails. Gel nails last a bit longer (3+ weeks), but Shellac nails last about 14 days and doesn’t require a NASA-certified mission to remove. Removing gel manicure takes buffing, soaking, and patience. Removing Shellac nails? Just acetone, cotton pad, and some aluminum foil. Shellac requires less scraping, which your nails will thank you for.
WHY WE LOVE SHELLAC AT IT’S BEAUTY
It’s safe, reliable, and doesn’t mess with the natural nail underneath. It goes on smooth, sets solid with the UV curing process, and doesn’t need layers of prep or crazy-long curing. The chemical process is clean and efficient.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR SHELLAC LAST LONGER
You paid for it—you want it to last. Fair. But there are some things you can do to make Shallac stay longer:
- Don’t use your nails to open cans. It can damage the coating. Ask your waiter or a friend instead (or if no one is near and you simply need that sugar-free soda – I use my car keys instead).
- Use gloves when cleaning or doing dishes. Hot water weakens the bond.
- Moisturise your cuticles daily with oils or hand creams. Dry nails chip faster.
- Book a removal process with us when it’s time. Picking it off can be damaging.
We strongly advise against DIY removals unless you’re confident and fully stocked. Even then, you risk messing with the top layers of the nail. Let a manicurist remove it properly it only takes a few minutes.
IS SHELLAC BAD FOR YOUR NAILS?
Short answer: No. Longer answer: Not if done and removed correctly. The damage usually happens when people peel or file aggressively, not from the shellac polish itself.
Despite what people say, your nails don’t “breathe”, so there won’t be any harm in the coating itself. But they do deserve kindness. Our team knows how to apply and remove with care. We also make sure you get a long lasting manicure without compromising nail health.
